Rockwell's Portrait of Nixon
This had to be one of the most oxymoronic portraits inside of the
National Portrait Gallery. Norman Rockwell probably did this way
before the Watergate scandal. During the late 69 I'm guessing? Nixon
looks almost to be an honest hardworking President. Somehow Rockwell
can even make scoundrels look like sincere Americans. Wish I had the
time to shoot the Sargent that was in the other gallery. It was one
of my favorites. Though, I have to say, Rockwell could really nail
the realism. Nixon's nose has an incredible sense of depth. Or was
that it's because it was always growing longer?

I KNEW I should have set the screen capture on, but I didn't. Just playing around with some more PSD brushes. I like the roughness, but then, it's easy to say, since I'm drawing from the mind. Wonder how I would have done with an actual sitting model. I was inspired by some 60's illustrations, but of course I really never came close to the technique or the approach. This is just done haphazardly.
